Rebels Announce Signing Of Outside Hitter Jackie Jones

Jones is the first signee of the early signing period and will be eligible to compete for the Rebels in the 2007-08 season.
“Jackie Jones brings a level of athleticism you need in the Southeastern Conference,” Getzin said. “She plays with a lot of intensity and emotion and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to working with her down the road. We hope she can help us continue to move up the ranks in the SEC.”
A four-time letter-winner, Jones had an outstanding career as she tallied 1,208 kills, 778 blocks and 967 digs. She played her first season at
Jones started her career with a bang, earning Newcomer of the Year honors in 2003 before claiming a spot on the All-District second team a year later. As a junior in 2005, Jones was named District Most Valuable Player as well as her team MVP. She capped her career with District Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2006 as she helped lead her team to the District Championship.
Jones spent two years playing club volleyball with the Skyline J.O. before competing with the 2005 USA NTR High Performance Team.
An all-around athlete, Jones also participated in golf, qualifying for Regional competition as a freshman as she earned medalist honors on the District level.
Jones comes from an athletic family as her father, Kirk, participated in golf and track and field while her mother competed in volleyball and tennis at
