OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 35 nationally ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will head to Champaign, Ill, this weekend to face 48th-ranked Illinois Saturday at Noon at the Atkins Tennis Center.

Ole Miss improved to 3-0 on the season with a 7-0 shutout of Southern University last Friday. The Lady Rebels only allowed the Lady Jaguars nine games in the entire match. Sophomore Nika Koukhartchouk was impressive in her debut at No. 1 singles, shutting out her opponent. Freshman Kseniia Tokarieva picked up another win in singles and also teamed with Koukhartchouk for a win in doubles, making her 6-0 in singles and doubles this season.

"We are looking forward to playing a ranked team," head coach Mark Beyers said. "This will be our first road match. We've had a good week of practice, but the team knows we will need to step it up a notch this weekend."

The Illini come into Saturday's match at 4-3 overall. They are coming off a 7-0 loss to 21st-ranked Wake Forest last Sunday. The Illini's other losses came against No. 22 Tennessee (6-1) and No. 28 William & Mary (7-0). Illinois is led by sophomore Macall Harkins, who owns an 8-11 overall record, 2-3 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 at No. 2 singles.
