OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team, ranked No. 8 in the nation, kept their regular season home win streak intact as they dominated 50th-ranked Alabama 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The Rebels will host Auburn Sunday at 1 p.m.

With the win, the Rebels improved to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in SEC play, while Alabama dropped to 4-5 and 1-2 in league play. The Rebels have now won five in a row against the Crimson Tide and 13 of the last 15 meetings.

In addition to winning its 29th consecutive regular season home match, the defending SEC Champions improved to 21-0 against division foes since 2002.

Ole Miss got on board first by taking the doubles point with wins at the top two positions, to improve to 69-3 when winning the point since 2002.

Senior Juan Pablo Di Cesare made it 2-0 with his 6-2, 6-4 win over Alabama's Mathieu Thibaudeau at No. 4 singles and moved to 9-1 in dual matches.

Sophomore Erling Tveit continued his impressive play at No. 1 singles, taking out Joseph Jung 6-1, 6-2 to put the Rebels in charge of the match. He improved to 11-1 at the top spot and has won 18 of his last 20 matches dating back to the fall.

The match ended when Robbye Poole finished off the Crimson Tide's Dan Buikema, 7-5, 6-3 on court five.

Bram ten Berge came back to win his match in three sets on court three, and Jakob Klaeson won a second set tiebreaker at No. 6 to complete the Rebels' fourth shut out of the season and second in a row.

Auburn defeated Mississippi State 6-1 Friday in Starkville. The Rebels have won 17 in a row against the Tigers, including last year's 4-2 win in the second round of the NCAA Championships.
