Caitlin Weiss Signs Volleyball National Letter Of Intent

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss head volleyball coach Joe Getzin announced the addition of Caitlin Weiss of Colleyville, Texas, to the signing class for the 2006-07 academic year on Monday. Weiss is the second signee for the Rebels, joining Jessica Dalke who signed last fall.
Weiss will join the Rebels from Grapevine High School where she earned two letters playing for Diane Wilson and has helped lead her team to a District 5-A Championship and Bi-District Championship in 2005.She was named First Team All-District for her performance throughout the year.
"We're excited about the addition of Caitlin Weiss to our signing class," Getzin said. "She is a tremendous athlete with a lot of potential for what she can bring to the court for us. She is a big hitter player who can play outside or right side."
Additional honors for Weiss in the 2005 season include: being named District 5-5A Offensive Player of the Year and selection to the Fort-Worth Star Telegram Super Team. She helped lead her team to the Grapevine Invitational Championship and was named her team's most valuable player.
In 2004, Weiss was named to the All-District Second Team and the Grapevine Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Weiss played two years of club volleyball with the Texas Advantage. In addition to volleyball, Weiss also lettered a season in basketball and was named 2005 All-District Second Team.
An excellent student in the classroom, Weiss also notched back-to-back All-District Academic Team honors in 2004 and 2005. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, the National Charity League and will graduate in the top 20 percent of her class.
