OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Mississippi's sixth annual Ladies' Football Forum will take place here Saturday, June 24, with registration to begin at 7:15 a.m. in the banquet room at the Indoor Practice Facility, located on Manning Way.
Participants in the forum we'll learn what the Rebels go through to get ready for a game and tour the weight room, training room and locker room. They will also watch a highlight video of the Rebels.
After lunch, get ready for an afternoon packed full of football knowledge. This year's featured speaker will be former Ole Miss player Chris Spencer, a member of the Seattle Seahawks who played in this year's Super Bowl. After being redshirted as a true freshman in 2001, Spencer lettered his last three seasons as he played in all 37 games. Spencer played in two bowl games during his career with the Rebels as Ole Miss defeated Nebraska, 27-23, in the 2002 Sanford Independence Bowl and Oklahoma State, 31-28, in the 2004 SBC Cotton Bowl.
Also participating in the forum will be special guest Buddy Patey who is the technical supervisor for the SEC Officials. Over five decades, Patey has played an integral role in the game of college football, particularly in promoting the rules and ethics of the game. Patey worked 26 years as an on-field official and spent the last 22 years as a supervisor and observer. During his illustrious officiating career, Patey worked over 500 high school games and 250 NCAA football games, including the Liberty, Cotton and Orange Bowls.
This year the forum will offer a DVD of the day's events. The cost is $20.00 and you can pay for that with your Ladies' Forum entry fee.
"Come and be part of this one-day event that you will remember for a lifetime," said Ladies' Forum Coordinator Chyna Ward.
