HOTTY TODDY!
Hello out there, Rebel Tennis fans! We wanted to send you a holiday message and update from your Ole Miss Women's Tennis program. First of all, we want to wish everyone and their families a Happy New Year! We know this is a special time to be with those dearest to us, and to think about those who are far away. With that in mind, we send out our prayers and wishes to all of our men and women in uniform. We love you and appreciate all your sacrifices.
Now, onto the team update. We begin play with our first weekend of matches January 26 and 27, battling Arkansas-Little Rock and Winthrop. Expect two Rebel wins and the start of a special season for the Lady Rebels. Our team is talented and experienced. We have battled some injury issues this past fall that hopefully we are working through in time for the season to start. We will be one of the favorites to win another SEC West Championship.
Our first month of matches WILL be played at the Gillom INDOOR Tennis Center on Coliseum Drive (where the NCAA Tournament Ole Miss Volleyball Team plays!). I am always surprised to hear how many of our fans in Oxford and elsewhere do not even realize we have an indoor facility. And it is a great way to escape the cold weather Oxford brings in January and February, and still cheer for your Rebels.
So I want to challenge all of our students, alumni, and fans everywhere to bring our athletes the support they need to chase down another SEC West title and take us deep into the NCAA Tournament. And remember, THIS IS NOT WIMBLEDON! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE QUIET, YOU CAN BE LOUD! THIS IS SEC SPORTS.
Come to the matches, and BE ROWDY!
