Men's Tennis To Host UALR Wednesday

1/29/2007 | Men's Tennis

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team, ranked No. 6 in the nation, will host UALR Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Gillom Sports Center, in the third of a five-match homestand to begin the year.

The Rebels are off to a 2-0 start with consecutive shutouts against Murray State a week ago and Tennessee Tech last Sunday.  Two of Ole Miss’ newcomers, Jonas Berg and Kalle Norberg, combined to go 7-0 in both matches.

UALR comes into Wednesday’s match at 3-1 on the year.  Their lone loss came at No. 27 Tulsa, 6-1.   They have since posted shutouts of Lamar University, Nicholls State and Oral Roberts.  The Trojans are led by senior Dinko Halachev, who led the team in singles victories in 2006, with a 19-4 record.  He went 2-0 at No. 1 and 17-4 at No. 2.

Admission to all matches is free, and live scoring of all home matches is available at www.olemisssports.com.
