SERIES INFORMATION

This meeting was the 55th all-time between Ole Miss and Alabama dating back to 1894.

The Crimson Tide holds a 44-9-2 advantage in the series, including a 45-8-2 lead on-the-field. Ole Miss received a win by forfeit for Alabama’s 19-14 victory in 1993.

The Tide has won by a three-point margin in each of the last three meetings.

The teams have split the last four meetings at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

STARTERS: After starting at center the last two games, senior Thomas Eckers earned the start at right guard today ... It marks his first career start at RG and eighth overall with four at center and three at left guard.

 

TEAM NOTES

Ole Miss led at the end of the first quarter for the fourth straight game and fifth time this year ... The Rebels have outscored the opposition 34-10 in the first quarter this year.

The Rebel football program remains four wins short of 600 ... Ole Miss boasts an all-time record of 596-456-35 (.565 winning percentage).

 

OFFENSIVE NOTES                   

Senior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 131 yards on 20 carries in recording his third 100-yard game of the year and seventh of his career ... His 57-yard third-quarter run was the longest of his career.

Sophomore WR Dexter McCluster hauled in a first-quarter TD pass for the second straight game ... He finished with a team-high and career-high seven catches for 75 yards ... After missing 10 straight games dating back to last year, McCluster has totaled 10 grabs and 123 receiving yards in the last two contests.

Senior QB Seth Adams completed 22-of-40 passes for 284 yards with two TDs and three interceptions ... He also notched his first career rushing TD with a three-yard scoring run in the third quarter ... Adams has thrown for 200 or more yards in five of seven games.

Junior WR Mike Wallace hauled in a 42-yard reception in the third quarter for his sixth catch of 40 or more yards this season.

                                                                                                    

DEFENSIVE NOTES

Sophomore DL Greg Hardy posted career highs of 13 total tackles, nine solos, five TFLs, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two QB hurries ... Hardy has nine TFLs and five sacks in the last two games.

Making his second career start, junior LB Brandon Thomas registered a career-high 11 stops, including five solos.

Starting for the second straight game, freshman DB Johnny Brown posted a career-high seven total tackles with two QB hurries.

Junior LB Ashlee Palmer recorded his second interception of the year along with two pass break-ups and eight total stops.

                                                                                    

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

Junior DB Dustin Mouzon registered the first punt block of his career in the third quarter ... Mouzon has been active on special teams, recovering a blocked field goal last week against Louisiana Tech and returning it 55 yards for a TD.

Junior WR Mike Wallace collected a career-high 87 kick return yards on four tries.
