OXFORD, Miss. On the heels of three straight tournament titles, the Ole Miss men’s golf team is ranked No. 19 in the latest Golfstat Ranking released Wednesday.

This marks the first time for the Rebels to be among the top 20 since head coach Ernest Ross’ return to the program.   Ole Miss is one of six SEC teams in the top 25.  Alabama is ranked No. 5, followed by Auburn (12th), South Carolina (13th), Florida (17th), Ole Miss (19th) and Tennessee (23rd).

The Rebels made history this week when they won the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, becoming the first team in Ole Miss men’s golf history to win three consecutive tournaments.  The streak began with the Rebels taking the Memphis Intercollegiate followed by the Squire Creek Invitational.

Ole Miss was led this fall by senior Kyle Ellis and junior transfer Jesse Speirs, who both finished with a 71.92 stroke average.   Speirs had three top-five and four top-10 finishes, and Ellis posted two top-five and three top-10 showings.    Freshman Jonathan Randolph also turned in two top-five and three top-10 performances, including tying for third at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate.

The Rebels will kick off the spring Feb. 9-10 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
