Lady Rebel Netters To Participate In Wildcat Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. Members of the Ole Miss women’s tennis team will head to Evanston, Ill., this weekend for the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Northwestern University, Friday-Sunday.  All matches will be played at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center.

 

Play begins Friday at 8:30 a.m., while competition begins Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. Play will last throughout the day on each day of the tournament.

 

The field includes Arkansas, DePaul, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Purdue, South Carolina, William & Mary and Wisconsin.

 

The draw consists of four singles flights with 16 players and two doubles flights.

 

Ole Miss will have six players competing, led by seniors Nika Koukhartchouk, Mimi Renaudin and Preethi Subramanian.  Joining them will be sophomore Soledad Podlipnik and freshmen Yana Kireeva and Laura van der Stroet.

 

This is the second of four tournaments that the Lady Rebels will compete in this fall.  They hosted the Ole Miss Fall Classic in September, with Subramanian and Podlipnik taking the Red Draw doubles title.
