All-American Oher Leads Five Rebel Honorees

CLEVELAND, Ohio Ole Miss’ Michael Oher received All-America distinction and joined four other Rebels with All-SEC honors, as Phil Steele has released his postseason awards.

 

Oher was named Fourth Team All-America and First Team All-SEC. The junior from Memphis has started 34 consecutive games on the offensive line and has been a consensus fist team all-conference pick this season.

 

Senior running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis and sophomore defensive end Greg Hardy made Steele’s All-SEC second team, while junior wide receiver Mike Wallace and junior defensive tackle Peria Jerry were distinguished on the third team.

 

It marked the first career postseason award for Wallace, who led the SEC in yards per catch (18.8) and ranked ninth in receiving yards per game (59.7). The New Orleans native turned in a pair of 100-yard games and finished the year with 38 grabs for 716 yards with six touchdowns.
