Lady Rebel Netters To Host Southeastern Louisiana Thursday

2/13/2007 | Women's Tennis

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s tennis team will host Southeastern Louisiana Thursday, in the first of two home matches this week.  First serve will be at 2 p.m. at the Gillom Sports Center.

The Lady Rebels come into the match at 3-2.  They are undefeated at home, with both losses coming on the road. Most recently, Ole Miss dropped a 6-1 decision at then No. 20 Texas.

Senior Ilona Somers won her match at No.1 singles to improve to 4-0 at the top spot.  She also teamed with last year’s SEC Freshman of the Year to post a win at No. 1 doubles.

Southeastern Louisiana enters the match at 1-1 on the season.  They are coming off a 4-3 loss to South Alabama last Wednesday.  Prior to that, SELA defeated North Texas, 7-0. The Lions are led by junior Emilija Arnaudovska who earned second team All-Southland Conference honors last season.

Admission to all home matches is free and live scoring is available at www.olemisssports.com.
