Rebel Netters Ranked No. 10 In Latest Rankings

3/13/2007 | Men's Tennis

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team, despite a tough loss at Alabama last week, remained in the top 10 of the latest Fila ITA National Rankings, coming in at No. 10 in this week’s Top 25.

“We are glad to still be ranked among the top 10,” head coach Billy Chadwick said.  “It was a disappointing loss to Alabama, but sometimes you just have a bad day.  We know that there is no more room for error if we want to accomplish our goals.  We are looking forward to playing the top team in Division II (West Florida) and then getting ready for our next two important home weekends of SEC play.”

The Rebels (13-2, 3-1) suffered just their second loss of the season and first in conference play against Alabama. They rebounded to post a 6-1 win over Auburn on Sunday.

Ole Miss’ two losses are against No. 2 Virginia and Alabama, who rose to No. 14 in the rankings.  Georgia remained at No. 1 in the rankings.  Other SEC teams in the Top 25 include No. 13 LSU and No. 23 Florida.

The Rebels will meet the Division II No. 1 Argonauts on Friday at 1 p.m.
