Lady Rebel Netters Swept At Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Ole Miss women’s tennis team fell to No. 18 Vanderbilt 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Brownlee O’Currey Tennis Center.  Vanderbilt earned its 10th consecutive win.

 

The Commodores (12-5, 5-0) held the Rebels (4-11, 0-4) winless through the doubles contest.

 

Ole Miss’ Kseniia Tokarieva had to retire early in her match at No. 3 which put Vandy up 2-0 at the start of the singles.  The Commodores followed with straight set wins across the board to complete the sweep. 

 

Preethi Subrmanian lost to Courtney Ulrey 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, and then freshman Soledad Podlipnik dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to VU’s Taka Bertrand as the Commodores clinched the win.

 

The Lady Rebels will head to Lexington Sunday for a Noon match against Kentucky.
