Women's Golf Team Heads To Florida

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women’s golf team heads to sunny Gainesville, Fla., for the Sun Trust/Lady Gator Invitational. It is the second straight tournament for the Lady Rebels in the state of Florida.

“We are very excited about being here in the beautiful Florida weather,” said head coach Meghan Bolger. “We have had a good two weeks of practice, and we are just ready to get out there against a very tough field full of SEC teams.”

The Lady Rebels head into the event led by sophomore Dori Carter. The Valdosta, Ga., native enters the event having recently finished a career-best second at the FSU/Chrysler Challenge.

Senior Katie Davidson finished second for the Lady Rebels at the FSU/Chrysler Challenge. The Bonaire, Ga., native carded a 79-79-75--233, to finish 12^th.

Sophomore Megan Johnson is competing as a team member for only the second time. The Lexington, Ky., native has competed in separate events as an individual.

Freshman Sara Grantham heads into the Sun Trust/Lady Gator Invitational as one of the surprises on this year’s squad. The Cleveland, Tenn., native has been the leading Lady Rebel finisher in two events this season, including carding her first ever top 10 finish at the Kentucky Wildcat Fall Invitational.

Junior Katherine Jones returns to the links for Ole Miss. The Jackson, Miss., native made history in the fall as she hit the first ever hole-in-one for the Rebels at the Jeannine McHaney Invitational in Lubbock, Texas.

“The girls are really pumped up about this event,” said Bolger. “We are hoping to turn that excitement into a really good finish against some very strong teams.”

The first round is scheduled for March 10, with the final two rounds to be played March 11.
