Becky Nye Tabbed SEC Softball Freshman Of The Week

The
Nye followed that up with a complete-game victory in the rubber match on Sunday, giving the Rebels their school record-tying 10th SEC win of the year. She gave up four runs on five hits with another 10 strikeouts. Four of the hits were either infield singles or bloopers over third base.
Nye now leads the Rebel squad with 110.2 innings pitched and 93 strikeouts on the year. She has a team-best 2.14 ERA in conference games.
She is Ole Miss’ first-ever league freshman of the week recipient after the award’s establishment last year. She is the second Rebel to receive a weekly honor this year, as senior Mary Jane Callahan was the SEC Pitcher of the Week following the
Ole Miss returns to the diamond on Wednesday with a non-conference doubleheader against in-state foe Southern Miss slated for a 5 p.m. start. The “Ladies Night” contest features $1 admission for all ladies of any age. For those unable to attend, the games will be broadcast live on the internet at www.OleMissSports.TV. Ole Miss returns to SEC action with a three-game home series against No. 2 Alabama this Saturday and Sunday.
