4/8/2007 | Women's Tennis
Somers, ranked No. 74 in the nation, notched wins over the No. 23 player last weekend, and the No. 35 player on Friday and is now 13-6 at No.1 singles and 5-4 in the SEC.
“I knew I could beat these players, if I just kept working hard,” said Somers, after her win against Frazier. “I love playing these type of matches. It elevates my game to another level. It’s obviously tough with the team’s situation, but I just have to stay positive and try to win my matches. Hopefully I can continue to play well and get some more big wins to get into the NCAA Singles Championship.”
