INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Shawn Goff, a rising junior on the Ole Miss women's basketball team, has been selected to represent the University of Mississippi at the 2007 NCAA National Leadership Conference held May 27-31 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Goff, who was the Rebels' leading scorer and rebounder off the bench in 2006-07, is a member of the Ole Miss' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is very involved in the community having participated in Reading with the Rebels, Bingo at Azalea Gardens and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts during her two years on campus. The 6-3 center led Ole Miss in blocks as a sophomore, collecting 48 on the season, which ranked her fifth in the Southeastern Conference. She turned in 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in helping the Rebels advance to the Elite Eight of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA National Leadership Conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The leadership conference also promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities. The five-day leadership conference consists of daily exercises and activities to help the student-athletes develop as individuals and as contributing members to a group.
