OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss men’s tennis junior Erling Tveit picked up another accolade this season, earning ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.

Tveit was among 11 student-athletes named to the District VI Academic All-America At-Large second team which covers the states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and includes 12 different sports.

“We are very proud of Erling for earning this honor,” head coach Billy Chadwick said.  “He has done an outstanding job of competing at a high level on and off the court.”

The All-American and three-time All-SEC honoree, recorded a 4.0 this semester in Business, while maintaining his status as one of the top players in the nation.  Tveit, ranked No. 13 in the country, led the Rebels to their sixth consecutive SEC Western Division Championship and the NCAA “Sweet Sixteen.”

An ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2006, Tveit is currently competing in the NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, Ga., seeking a repeat of his run to the semifinals in singles last year.
