Rebels Fall To Volunteers 3-2 In Late Rally

With the Rebels holding a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh, lightning stuck and forced a rain delay of more than an hour as both teams cleared the field. Cody Satterwhite entered the game for the Rebels in the resumed game, relieving starter Will Kline.
Satterwhite looked to be in command early, but things didn’t work out in the ninth as he walked four straight batters to tie the game before Justin Cryer entered in relief. Cryer gave up a bloop single to Andy Simunic as the Vols picked up the win.
Satterwhite (3-2) suffered the loss as he walked four, but struck out five batters and did not allow a hit. Starter Will Kline worked 6.0 innings with one unearned run on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

The Rebels out hit the Volunteers 9-to-3 but couldn’t collect the win.
Jordan Henry, Kyle Mills and Zach Miller led the Rebels at the plate as each batter collected two hits on the night. Mills also recorded a solo home run to give the Rebels the lead in the fifth inning, while Henry extended his season-long hitting streak to 13 games.
Ole Miss got on the board in the first when Jordan Henry scored from second on a grounder down the left field line from Cozart that resulted in a fielding error by the Vols third baseman. Henry drew a walk to open the game before moving to second on a sac bunt from Justin Henry.
Mills homered to left center to open the fifth inning and push the Rebels back on top with a 2-1 lead.
The Rebels turned on the pressure in the ninth inning when Peyton Farr got to third, but the Rebels could not get him home as Ole Miss held a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.
