SERIES INFORMATION
Troy leads the all-time series 5-4 after today's meeting.
Southern Miss now leads 4-3 in the last seven games, all played in 2006 and 2007. The Golden Eagles swept a three-game series last year, but the Trojans won twice in last year's NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional and a single game this year.

SOUTHERN MISS NOTES
Southern Miss is making its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth straight, tied for the 12th-longest consecutive streak in the country.
The Golden Eagles won their opening game of an NCAA Regional for the first time since a 6-5 win over College of Charleston at the 2004 Baton Rouge Regional.
Sophomore SS Brian Dozier's solo home run in the bottom of the fourth was his fourth of the year, a personal season high. He also set season highs with three extra-base hits and two doubles in the game.
The Golden Eagles notched double figures in hits for the 25th time this season, including 10 of last 14 games. They also had double-figure runs for the eighth time.

TROY NOTES
Troy is making its fourth NCAA Division I Tournament appearance since
moving up from Division II in 1994. The Trojans are competing in their second straight Regional.
The Trojans were one shy of season highs with five errors and 16 hits allowed.
