OXFORD, Miss. In search of a victory prior to heading into conference play, the Ole Miss women’s basketball team welcomes Central Michigan in the final non-conference matchup of the regular season Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Tad Smith Coliseum.

Ole Miss (5-7, 0-0 SEC) enters action Thursday following its trip north to take part in the Lady Griz Holiday Classic hosted by the University of Montana.  Ole Miss received a career performance from sophomore Bianca Thomas in the opening game as she scored a career-high 22 points against UC Santa Barbara.  Following her impressive two-game stretch in Montana, Thomas now shoots better than 50 percent from the field, from the three-point line and the free throw line.

Lady Rebel junior center Shawn Goff also posted an outstanding tournament as she scored in double figures in both games en route to her selection to the Lady Griz Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team.  Goff has now scored in double figures in six consecutive games and leads the team while ranking 16th in the SEC with 13.1 points per game to go along with 7.1 rebounds per game.  Senior forward Carla Bartee tied a season-high output with 18 points against Montana to up her season average to 11.5 points per game.  Bartee also leads the team with 10.0 points per game and is one of only three players in the SEC to average a double-double.

Central Michigan (4-8, 0-0 Mid-American) begins play Thursday having lost four of its last five games, including an 86-71 setback Sunday afternoon at Dayton to fall to 0-6 on the road this season.  The Lady Rebels boast a 4-1 overall record at home this season and outscore their opponents by a 10.8 margin when playing inside the friendly confines of the Tad Pad.  Sophomore guard Britni Houghton leads the team with 10.2 points per game, while fellow guard Latisha Luckett owns the team lead with 6.6 rebounds per game.

Thursday’s game will also mark the first ever meeting between the two schools on the hardwood.  Ole Miss owns a 1-1 all-time record against Mid-American Conference competition with the last meeting coming when the Lady Rebels defeated Bowling Green 80-63 Nov. 26, 1999.
