Ole Miss Track And Field Sweeps Arkansas State Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. The Ole Miss track and field team captured both the women’s and the men’s team titles as the Rebels earned seven individual titles Saturday afternoon at the Arkansas State Invitational.

 

Junior Brittney Reese was the Lady Rebels’ top competitor as she collected a total of three individual titles.  Reese earned the crown in the high jump with a mark of 5-11.50 before taking the long jump with a mark of 20-00.25.  Reese also won the 55 meters with a time of 6.93. 

 

Lady Rebel freshman LaJada Baldwin won the individual crown in the 200 meters with a time of 24.26.  Ole Miss was also successful in the 200 meters on the men’s side too as senior Rickie Bratton completed the event with a time of 21.62 to earn the individual title.   

 

In the 400 meter dash, both senior Kenyata Coleman and Baldwin posted NCAA provisional marks in the event.  Coleman won the individual title with a mark of 54.13, while Baldwin finished in second place with a time of 54.16.

 

Rebel junior Wale Odetunde finished in first place in the long jump with a mark of 23-09.00, and also took second in the triple jump with a mark of 48-02.50.

 

Ole Miss returns to action Feb. 8-9 when the Rebels travel to South Bend, Ind., to take on Notre Dame.
