10/15/2008 | Football
OXFORD, Miss. -- After racking up every possible honor in the preseason, Ole Miss' Michael Oher was named to the CBSSports.com Midseason All-America First Team on Wednesday.
A senior offensive tackle from Memphis, Oher leads a Rebel offensive line, which ranks fourth in the SEC in rushing and has allowed only six sacks. He ranks third in the conference among active players with 40 consecutive starts over his career.
The SEC had the most players represented on the midseason teams with six, while the Big 12 had five. The Big Ten and Big East each had four. Five teams placed two members on the team -- Oklahoma, Utah, Florida, Penn State and Cincinnati.
Oher's Rebels travel to No. 2 Alabama on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on CBS.
