SERIES INFORMATION

This game was the 14th meeting between Ole Miss and South Carolina dating back to 1947, and the fifth since the Gamecocks joined the SEC in 1992.

Despite the loss, the Rebels lead the series 8-6, and prior to today, had won five straight dating back to a 20-13 win at Columbia in 1981.

The Rebels are 4-3 in home games against the Gamecocks, including one game each in Memphis and Jackson, and own a 3-1 mark in Oxford ... The last setback to South Carolina at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium was 10-7 in 1974.

GENERAL NOTES

This game was the 81st Homecoming game at Ole Miss since 1924 ... The Rebels are 65-14-2 all-time in Homecoming games and had won 11 straight on Homecoming prior to today ... The last Homecoming defeat was against LSU 39-7 in 1996.

The Rebels faced their third and final SEC Eastern Division foe of the regular season.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

Ole Miss' 361 yards marked the most surrendered this season by the top-ranked Gamecock defense, which entered the game giving up 221.4 yards per contest.

The Rebels scored first for the fifth time in six games this season.

Sophomore QB Jevan Snead finished 21-of-32 for 243 yards, one TD and one interception ... The 21 completions is a season high, and the 243 yards is 10 short of his season best.

Junior Dexter McCluster just missed his second 100-yard receiving effort in the last three games, finishing with six receptions for a game-high 99 yards ... McCluster also topped the team in rushing with 40 yards on eight carries with his third TD on the ground with the five-yard, first-quarter score.

Junior RB Cordera Eason rushed for a TD on an eight-yard run in the first quarter ... Eason has scored a touchdown in four of the last five games.

Freshman RB Brandon Bolden hauled in his first career TD pass on a 24-yarder in the second quarter ... Bolden registered a career-high three catches for 29 yards.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

Ole Miss notched three sacks for the second straight game ... Fon Ingram notched his first career sack, Ashlee Palmer his first of the year and Allen Walker his second of the season.

Senior S Jamarca Sanford led the team and equaled his career high of 13 tackles ... It marks his 10th career game with double-figure tackles and second straight.

Senior LB Ashlee Palmer posted season highs of nine tackles and 2.5 TFLs, including his first career solo sack ... He also provided a key stop on the fourth-down defensive stop in the fourth quarter.

Junior LB Lamar Brumfield recorded his first career interception in the third quarter.

Senior LB Tony Fein was credited with eight total tackles and is averaging 8.0 stops over the last three games.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

Senior P Rob Park notched his third punt of the year of 50 or more yards with his 50-yarder in the second quarter ... Park also pinned a punt on the five yard-line and finished with three punts for an average of 42.7 yards.

Senior Mike Wallace totaled 129 kickoff return yards and is averaging 157.0 per game of the last three games ... His total against the Gamecocks ranks 11th on the Ole Miss all-time single game chart.

Junior K Joshua Shene was perfect on the day, converting all three PATs and connecting on a 37-yard FG.
