BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Ole Miss senior runner Kyle Lewis capped his final regular season in style as he named to the SEC Cross Country All-SEC second team the league office announced Wednesday.

A native of Bay St. Louis, Miss., Lewis raced as the Rebels' top performer all season long as he was the top finisher for Ole Miss in every race this season. In addition, Lewis posted four top-12 finishes, including an individual championship to open the season at the Southern Miss Golden Eagle Classic.

In his most recent meet, Lewis earned a spot on the All-SEC second team as he raced to a 12th place finish at the SEC Cross Country Championships at the Mississippi State cross country course located at the MSU Horse Park.

He posted a season-best time of 24:03.88 to help the Ole Miss men's team to a ninth place finish. In addition, Lewis became just the 10th cross country athlete in school history to finish 12th or better at the SEC Championships.

Lewis and Ole Miss return to action Saturday when the Rebels take part in the NCAA South Regional from Maryville, Tenn.
