Ole Miss Softball Signs Trio

Broome, who attended North Gwinnett High School in Suwannee, Ga., is a speedy outfielder who batted .374, scored 38 runs and stole a county record 38 bases as a junior en route to All-County honors. She also played summer ball in the ASA 18U Gold Division for the East Cobb Bullets and was named to the 2008 Georgia Dugout Club East Atlanta All-Star team. Bromme also serves as her school's senior class president.
Jayjohn, a Justin, Texas native, attended Northwest High School. A starting pitcher and first baseman, Jayjohn led the Lady Texans to the 2008 Texas 5-5A District Championship. She batted .487 and had 27 RBI as a junior. Jayjohn played summer ball for the Texas Elite in the ASA 18U Gold Division and won the 2008 USSSA World Series 18U Majors. She was named to the World Series All-Tournament team for her efforts.
Nolan, who comes to Ole Miss from Glendora High School in Glendora, Calif., is the starting catcher for the Tartans and led her squad to the Division 2 CIF finals, while batting .380 as a junior. A career .395 hitter in high school, Nolan is a three-time member of the All-Sierra League team and led her team to the 2008 Sierra League Championship. She also played summer ball for the SoCal Explosion, where she finished fourth in the nation at the ASA 18U Gold Division National Chamiponships.
"We are very excited about all three players joining our squad," said Ole Miss head coach Missy Dickerson. "They are all athletic and talented and will help our team tremendously."
The Rebels will open the 2009 season at the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational beginning on Feb. 6. Ole Miss will join Marist and host school Louisiana-Lafayette in the tournament field.
