11/23/2008 | Football

OXFORD, Miss. -- After a near five-year absence, Ole Miss returned to the national football polls today, entering the Associated Press ranking at the No. 25 spot. The Rebels were last ranked in the final 2003 polls at 13th by the AP and 14th by the USA Today Coaches poll.

Ole Miss (7-4, 4-3 SEC) is riding a four-game win streak after a 31-13 road win over No. 18 LSU Saturday. The Rebels' seven wins are the most since 2003, and the current win streak is also the longest since that season.

Ole Miss wraps up the regular season Friday against Mississippi State (4-7, 2-5) in the 81st Battle for the Golden Egg and the 105th meeting in the series, which the Rebels lead 59-39-6.
