Ole Miss Earns Pontiac Game Changing Performance
11/27/2008 | Football
Ole Miss' special teams highlight in the win at No. 18 LSU was voted this week's Pontiac Game Changing Performance, as announced Thursday during ESPN's college football broadcast.
In Saturday's upset in Baton Rouge, senior fullback Jason Cook's 33-yard pass to junior safety Kendrick Lewis on a fake punt set up a key second-quarter touchdown to spark the Rebels to victory. The play was one of five nominated for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance.
By receiving the most votes, Ole Miss earns a $5,000 contribution from Pontiac to their general scholarship fund. Additionally, the play is nominated for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year award and the chance to win a $100,000 general scholarship contribution from Pontiac.
The Rebels were also nominated for the Game Changing Performance following the win over No. 4 Florida, after the Ole Miss defense stopped Gator quarterback Tim Tebow on fourth down in the game's final seconds.
