Rebels Welcome Christian Brothers For Final Exhibition Tune-up

OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s basketball teams faces its final competition before the start of the regular season when the Rebels host Christian Brothers University in an exhibition game Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Tad Smith Coliseum. Admission to Sunday’s game is free.

 

Ole Miss enters the weekend coming off an impressive 77-45 win over DT-3 Tuesday evening in its first exhibition game of the season. Newcomer Katorra Lewis notched a double-double as she tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Elizabeth Robertson led all scorers as she finished with 13 points, while freshman Nikki Byrd added 11 points and nine rebounds.

 

Senior center Shawn Goff, a preseason All-SEC first team selection, picked up right where she left off as she finished the game with 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Last season, Goff ranked second in the SEC and 28th in the nation with 2.31 blocked shots per game.

 

Christian Brothers, a Division II school located in Memphis, Tenn., will be playing its second exhibition game of the season Sunday in Oxford. Last season, the Lady Buccaneers posted a 19-10 overall record and a 6-8 mark inside the Gulf South Conference.

 

Earlier in the week, the Lady Buccaneers dropped a 77-46 decision at Southern Illinois. Sophomore guard Tanaeya Worden finished with a game-high 21 points and was the only Lady Buccaneer to register double digits.
