OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s tennis team will step outside conference play this week to host No. 15 TCU Thursday at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The match begins at 1 p.m.
The Lady Rebels (4-8) are looking to snap a six-match losing streak. The team is coming off a 4-3 loss to Alabama last Sunday. Freshman Karen Nijssen leads the team with an 8-4 record at No. 2 singles. She also teams with senior Nika Koukhartchouk for a No. 32 ranking in doubles and an 8-4 record.
TCU owns a 7-3 record and is coming off wins over Wake Forest and VCU. The Horned Frogs continued their road trip with a match at Auburn Tuesday. Anna Sydorska and Nina Munch-Soegaard are ranked No. 67 and No. 87, respectively, to lead the Frogs. The doubles duo of Sydorska and Macall Harkins has posted an 8-1 record to earn a national ranking of No. 14. The Frog duo's only loss this season came to the nation's top tandem from Fresno State.
Ole Miss leads the overall series with the Frogs by a 3-1 advantage. Last season, TCU beat the Lady Rebels by a score of 6-1 in Fort Worth.
