On Saturday's scrimmage:
"I thought things went well. The offensive line showed up, as well as the receivers. Overall I thought it was a good game."
On adjusting to new coaching staff:
"I mean, it's a change. We have a new coaching staff, and we've had to adjust to it. I think we've done a good job adjusting to the new offense and defense. It seems like we're going to have a good season."
On his opportunity to play:
"I've waited for a long time. I give a lot of credit to the offensive line because without them, the holes wouldn't have been there. I'm just really excited and couldn't wait to get out there and showcase and show everyone what I can do. I still have a lot of stuff to work on to get where I need to be, but I'm going to continue to work extra hard to get to the top of my game."

On Saturday's scrimmage:
"I think we did pretty well. We were able to show everyone a little of what we can do. I think we're learning a lot from Coach Nutt, and that's a blessing. He's teaching us how to be a team, starting with the individual talent.
On Coach Nutt:
"He makes you work hard, but in the end he gives back to you. He really is a player's coach. He tells you good things, and he's just a good coach to me."
On having one quarterback:
"You get chemistry. Instead of trying to learn how to catch a different spiral ball from different quarterbacks, you only have one. It's good to have just one quarterback."

"With a new coach, he's really a player's coach and we're really having a lot of fun and enjoying ourselves, and that's the main part of this game, just having fun and enjoying ourselves.

"It was great. If you weren't motivated before that time, then you were motivated after listening to them. I think it's great that they came back and I appreciate them coming back and I know everyone feels the same way. It's great to listen to them telling us what we should do and giving us that guidance."

"I love it. It's different, but you know I'm willing to step up to the challenge, and I'm glad that the coaches have that confidence in me to get the job done."
On his off season workouts:
"This off season, I'm just going to work hard in the weight room and do what I have to do to get that extra weight on me and keep the speed on me. I'm just going to keep praying that the Lord will keep me healthy."

"It's definitely been a big deal. I haven't been the starting quarterback before in the spring, so it was definitely a big deal for me."

"I'm definitely comfortable with him. I'm comfortable with everybody, though. They are all great playmakers, especially him. Some of the moves he can make, I wish I could make. I could make them in my dreams. That's just about it."
On first touchdown:
"That was great. I didn't get one for a while, so I was hoping it was coming, and it did, and I was very excited about that."
On pre-game emotions:
"I was kind of nervous, but I was just ready to go out there and show everyone what I can do. I think as a team we played really well. There are some things that we could do better, but I cannot say enough about my offensive line and my receivers."
On new offense:
"I'm still trying to learn it right now. They're doing a great job teaching us right now and making sure we're learning and doing what we're supposed to."
