Women's Golf Adds Transfer Ashley Lance
4/17/2008 | Women's Golf
“Ashley will be a great addition for us this upcoming fall, and we are so excited that she chose Ole Miss,” Drinkard said. “She brings with her a vast amount of experience and will add depth to our team next year. Being redshirted this last year and in a colder climate, she has chosen a very competitive summer schedule to prepare herself for our SEC schedule. We look for Ashley to make an immediate impact for us next year.”
Lance is a two-time Tennessee State Champion who competed in numerous events in the Tennessee Junior Golf Association (TJGA), the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the Southeastern Junior Golf Association (SJGA).
A two-time qualifier for the U.S. Girls Junior Championship, Lance was the Tennessee State Junior Amateur runner-up in 2005 and took second at the Nike AJGA Mississippi Invitational in 2003. She also qualified for the Nike AJGA Championship as a 14-year old.
Lance won or finished second in 40 events from 1999-2007 on the junior circuits and was the youngest women’s club champion at Old Natchez Country Club (Franklin, Tenn.), winning the championship at age 13.
