Subramanian Named To SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss senior Preethi Subramanian has been named to the SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team as announced by the league office.

A native of Coimbatore, India, Subramanian has participated in "Reading with the Rebels" (a program which helps promote reading to area students) and the SAAC Annual Canned Food Drive with the Oxford Food Pantry. She helped Ole Miss collect 4,500 pounds of food in the "Together We CAN Drive" program sponsored by the SEC in the fall.

An outstanding student-athlete, Subramanian is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. She will graduate in May with a degree in accounting and plans to attend graduate school.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams in all 20 sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight athletes from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Other members of the SEC Community Service Team include Shelley Godwin (Alabama), Audrey Bordeleau (Arkansas), Kelley Moore (Georgia), Carolina Escamilla (Kentucky), Staten Spencer (LSU), Renee Joseph (Mississippi State), Ana Marija Zubori (South Carolina), Ghizela Schutte (Tennessee) and Amanda Taylor (Vanderbilt).
