Tveit Named To Men's Tennis SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Ole Miss senior Erling Tveit has been named to the SEC Men's Tennis Community Service Team as announced by the league office.

A native of Oslo, Norway, Tveit has been involved with the Oxford Food Pantry, helping head coach Billy Chadwick deliver food to a client each week.

Tveit has also been active with Special Olympics, helping conduct a regional tennis championship in 2005 and handling skills competition and awards in 2006-07. This year, he was in charge of organizational volunteers and conducting of the Special Olympic tennis games.

A two-time All-American, Tveit became the second Rebel ever to earn All-SEC honors all four years, when he was named to the first team this week. He was a finalist for the SECs Boyd McWhorter Postgraduate Scholarship and received a $5,000 scholarship.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams in all 20 sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight athletes from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Other members of the SEC Community Service Team include Jordie Kindervater (Alabama), Taylor King (Arkansas), Johnny Hamui (Florida), Kevin Dessauer (LSU), Ryan Farlow (Mississippi State), Thomas Stoddard (South Carolina) and Evan Dufuax (Vanderbilt).
