Ole Miss Women's Tennis Falls To LSU 6-1

4/6/2008 | Women's Tennis

BATON ROUGE, La. The No. 64 ranked Ole Miss women’s tennis team couldn’t repeat the magic of Friday’s big win over No. 14 Arkansas, falling to No. 33 LSU 6-1 at the Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium Sunday afternoon.

On Friday, the Lady Rebels came back to beat Arkansas 4-3 in Fayetteville for the second Top 25 win in a row, but on Sunday, it was the Tigers who jumped out to the early lead by claiming the doubles point.

The Tigers picked up straight set wins on courts one, six, three, two and four for the win.  Ole Miss’ only win came at No. 5 singles, as Soledad Podlipnik won her third in a row, defeating Tiffany Tucker, 7-6(3), 1-2, retired.

The Lady Rebels (6-14, 2-8) will conclude the regular season next Saturday at Mississippi State.
