OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss will travel to Ruston, La., to play a doubleheader against Louisiana Tech on Friday as a replacement for two games the Rebels lost to weather earlier this season at the Louisville Cardinal Classic. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
Ole Miss (25-26) knocked off Louisiana Tech (30-26) 4-0 earlier this season at the Rebels’ Red and Blue Classic in Oxford. In that contest, Amber Tramp hit a three-run homer and Tara Willitt pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Rebels. Ole Miss owns a 2-1 lead over Louisiana Tech in the all-time series.
Amberly Waits leads Tech's offense with a .399 batting average along with nine doubles, nine triples, seven home runs and 39 RBI. Krissi Oliver leads the squad with a 15-13 record and a 2.41 ERA.
Ole Miss must await the South Carolina and LSU series this weekend in Columbia to determine its SEC Tournament fate. If the Tigers win the series against the Gamecocks, the Rebels will clinch their third-straight SEC Tournament berth.
