Grill Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA First Team All-Region

“This is another great honor for Lauren,” said Ole Miss head coach Missy Dickerson. “She had an outstanding season and I think she is deserving of All-America recognition as well.”
She is the third player in Ole Miss history to receive all-region honors, joining Mary Jane Callahan and DeDe Justice, and is the first player in school history to be named to the first team.
The sophomore, who played shortstop and third for the Rebels this year, was selected as utility/non-pitcher. Her 41 RBI this season ranks second on the school’s single-season list and her 72 RBI after just two seasons ranks third on the Rebel career list. Her 12 long balls this year were the fourth most in school history and her 26 round-trippers after two years places her second in Ole Miss history behind Justice.
Grill was also named second-team All-SEC by the league’s coaches and earned SEC Player of the Week honors (4/14) after batting .417 and hitting the game-winning homers against LSU and
