The Ole Miss men’s tennis team finished the regular season among the nation’s top 10 and led the SEC in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) attendance race, as the final totals were announced this weekend. The Rebels, seeded No. 5 in the NCAA Championships, will face fourth-seeded Georgia Sunday at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals.
Ole Miss ranked sixth in total attendance with 3,474 fans coming to matches at the Gillom Sports Center and the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The Rebels finished fourth in average attendance with 347.
The Rebels had more than 600 fans attend the Ohio State, Florida and Mississippi State matches as well as the annual Mississippi Cup in Jackson.
“We are excited to be among the national leaders in attendance,” head coach Billy Chadwick said. “We have developed a huge following over the last 10 to 15 years, and our success at home (59-3 since 2003) is a direct reflection of this.”
These totals do not include the NCAA Championships first and second rounds, in which the Rebels had a packed house for both days.
