Rebels Welcome Peria Jerry Back to Practice

“It was good to have Peria back,” Nutt said. “His leadership and his intensity are intangibles that we have to have on the field. He’s worked hard all summer and he’s been through the wars, so he’s knows what to do. We won’t scrimmage him Saturday.”
Nutt also said senior offensive lineman Michael Oher may not scrimmage on Saturday.
“His arm got a little banged up today; I hope it’s not too bad. He got a helmet to his forearm, and he’s having it x-rayed. He has to tape it up and go, hopefully.”
For the third consecutive day, Nutt was pleased with the tempo of practice as the coaches continue to try and sort out the depth chart.
“I was very pleased,” he said. “We did about an hour and 15 minutes of just team today, if not more. It was really good.”
Ole Miss will continue fall practice on Friday, before holding the annual “Meet the Rebels Day” on Saturday at the Indoor Practice Facility.
Nutt and the rest of the coaching staff will address the crowd at 1:30 p.m., and will join the Rebel players in signing autographs and meeting fans from 2 until 4 p.m. A maximum of two items per person may be signed.
“Meet the Rebels Day” will conclude with the football team holding an intra-squad scrimmage inside of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The scrimmage is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will be open to the public.
“We probably won’t go as long in this scrimmage," Nutt said. "I am going to play a lot of the twos and threes, check out the freshmen and put the ones in some situations. It will start out ones on twos and then we’ll go one on one at the end.”
