Newcomers Report For Fall Camp

OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt announced here Saturday that all of the expected members of the Rebels’ 2008 signing class and walk-ons reported for the start of fall camp.

“I told the guys that today is the day you find your locker,” said the Rebels’ first-year head coach. “Today is the day we go through the training room and just listen. Today is a good first day. It is one of the best days of your life. I told them not to worry about first team or second team, to just listen, and that is the attitude we will take onto the practice field.”

Nutt also announced that five signees Randall Mackey, Hunter Miller, Andre Sterling, Chris Wilkes and Horatio Williams will not join the Rebels for the 2008 season.

Five members of the Rebels’ 2008 class Brandon Green, Gerald Harris, Jared Mitchell, Emmanuel Stephens and Julian Whitehead enrolled at the University in January.

Returning players from last year’s team are set to report Sunday, with the first day of pre season drills scheduled for Monday. Ole Miss will open the 2008 season at home on Aug. 30 against the University of Memphis. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
