9/14/2008 | Football

OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt announced Sunday afternoon he has suspended sophomore strong safety Fon Ingram of Atlanta, Ga., for one week.

"Fon is being suspended this week for breaking team rules and will not play against Vanderbilt," Nutt said. Ole Miss, 2-1 after defeating Samford, 34-10, opens Southeastern Conference action this Saturday by hosting the unbeaten Commodores (3-0) at 6 p.m. in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Ingram, who earned his first letter a year ago as a true freshman, is currently listed No. 2 at strong safety behind Jamarca Samford and has seen action in all three games this season. He was credited with four tackles, including three solo stops, in last Saturday's game with Samford.
