Rebel Netters Conclude Day One At Baylor Invitational

WACO, Texas -- Ole Miss sophomore Abigail Guthrie advanced to the third round of singles at the HEB Baylor Invitational here Friday, while her teammates, Gabriela Rangel and Connor Vogel reached the third round in doubles.
Guthrie had a first round bye and then dominated Janelle Cuthbertson of Texas A&M 6-1, 6-3. She will face Maria Martinez of Texas Arlington Saturday at 9:45 a.m. With the win, Guthrie improved to 11-1 on the year.
In doubles, Rangel and Vogel teamed up to defeat the Baylor team of Karolina Filipiak and Carla Lindlar 8-6 after a first round bye. The duo, now 8-3, will face Lauren Santocroce and Ashley Turpin of Texas A&M in the third round.

DOUBLES
First round -- Narine Kazarova/Madura Rang Nathan (UNT) def. Guthrie/Pippa Reakes (OM) 9-8(3). Second round -- Rangel/Vogel (OM) def. Karolina Filipiak/Carla Lindlar (BU) 8-6.
