Rebel Golfers Headed To Brickyard Collegiate

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss men's golf team is headed to Macon Ga., this weekend for the Brickyard Collegiate hosted by Mercer University at The Brickyard at Riverside.
The 15-team field includes Augusta State, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, North Florida, Ole Miss, Penn State, VCU, Virginia Tech and host Mercer.
Leading the Rebels this weekend, is 17th-ranked Jonathan Randolph who owns two top fives this year, including a win at the Mason Rudolph Championship. He leads the team with a 69.37 stroke average.
Joining Randolph will be sophomore Billy Brozovich, freshman Tom Brown, sophomore Joe David and freshman Chad Bounds.
The young Rebels are coming off a 10th-place finish at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate, and looking for their first top five of the year.
"We have been showing signs of improvement lately," head coach Ernest Ross said. "I am proud of our work ethic and determination. I know we have another strong field, and we will need to be at the top of our games.
"This is our third tournament in the last three weeks, and our players are getting in a good rhythm with their practice routines and competitive mind-set."
The tournament features 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday with the final round to be played Monday.
