Rebel Netters Conclude Stay At All-American

TULSA, Okla. -- The Ole Miss men's tennis team concluded its stay at the ITA D'Novo All-American Championships Wednesday, bowing out in the final round of qualifying singles and doubles at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Freshman Adrian Forberg Skogeng lost his first match of the year, falling in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) to Matt Kecki of the defending NCAA Champion, Southern California. Forberg Skogeng came within one match of reaching the main draw in his first national championship event as a Rebel and owns an 8-1 record.
Sophomore Marcel Thiemann dropped a three-setter to Virginia's Drew Courtney, ranked 84th nationally. After losing the first set 6-3, Thiemann won the second 7-5, before being closed out in the third 6-1.
Junior Tucker Vorster also lost to a player from USC, getting beat by the No. 2 seed, Jaak Poldma, 6-3, 6-2. Poldma is ranked No. 49 in the nation in singles.
In doubles, Vorster and Forberg Skogeng lost to Keziel Juneau and Sebastien Vidal of William & Mary 8-3.
The Rebels will be back in action Oct. 22-25 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in New Orleans, La.
