Rebels Offering Free Admission To Sunday's WBB Game

12/17/2009 | Women's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. - With the holidays rapidly approaching, the Ole Miss women's basketball team has joined forces with the Oxford Food Pantry and will be accepting canned food donations Sunday when the Rebels return home to host Winston-Salem State at 1 p.m. from Tad Smith Coliseum.

Anyone who brings two canned goods to the coliseum will receive free admission to the game. Fans will also be treated to a special guest appearance from Santa Claus.

The Oxford Food Pantry is an all-volunteer organization that provides a family in need with a one-week's supply of food and staples, screening and food distribution every Wednesday and Thursday.

The Pantry aids a family in need twice a year and elderly residents every four weeks. Those who are temporarily out of work, have unusually high medical bills, single mothers with limited resources and families who have lost their homes due to fire accidents, with a referral from the Red Cross, are the most common clients.
