OXFORD, Miss. The Ole Miss women’s golf team, ranked No. 34 in Golfstat, will kick off the spring season Feb. 22-24 at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C.

The three-day tournament will be played on the Oak Point and Cougar Point courses at the Kiawah Island Resort and will feature 43 teams.  Florida, Kentucky and Mississippi State join Ole Miss as representatives from the SEC.

Leading the Rebels will be senior All-American Dori Carter, who currently ranks No. 11 with a 71.50 stroke average.  The Valdosta, Ga., native already owns two runner-up finishes this year.

Carter will be joined by junior Sara Grantham, sophomore Jillian Brodd, freshman Ashley Lance and senior Rachel Ingram.

“We have been very productive during our off-season in preparation for our spring tournaments and are ready to compete,” head coach Michele Drinkard said.  “Our attention to detail is amazing and Alexis (assistant coach) and I are having a blast working with them every day.”

The Rebels posted three top-five finishes in the fall, including winning the Johnie Imes Invitational.
