OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss track and field head coach Joe Walker has been selected as one of 25 coaches across the country to serve on a new “Strategic Planning Committee” the NCAA Division I Track and Field Coaches Association announced.

The committee has been appointed by President Dr. Rick McGuire, and is comprised of a chairperson and 25 members with the intention of reflecting the many aspects of diversity found within Division I Track and Field, to include gender, race, age/experience, geographic region, size of institution/program/budget, expertise and demonstrated willingness to lead and serve.

“I am honored and excited to have been selected to such an important committee,” Walker said.  “I look forward to having the opportunity to help oversee the direction that our great sport is heading.”
