Rebel Netters Shut Out Division II Power West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. The No. 5 nationally ranked Ole Miss men’s tennis team shut out Division II power West Florida 4-0 Thursday to conclude Spring Break and improve to 13-2 on the season.

The Rebels jumped on West Florida early in doubles and never let up, winning 8-3 at No. 2 with Devin Britton and Tucker Vorster, and 8-2 at No. 3 with Kalle Norberg and Otto Sauer.

In singles, senior Bram ten Berge downed Luis Arboleda 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles to make it 2-0.  Sophomore Tucker Vorster, playing his first singles match this year, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against WF’s Leandro Schujmann at No. 6 singles, and then freshman Marcel Thiemann clinched it with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Sean Gunnels at No. 5 singles.

The Rebels have now won six in a row as they return to the Sunshine State next week for a March 25 match against Florida Atlantic before taking on the No. 8 Florida Gators on March 27.
