OXFORD, Miss. - Fresh off picking up a series victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend, the Ole Miss Rebels will travel to Madison, Miss. to face off against in-state rival Mississippi State in a non-conference match up at the M&F Bank Fastpitch Classic on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Liberty Park.

The Rebels (15-18, 4-12 SEC) picked up three SEC victories last week, including the series win over Arkansas and a 3-2 triumph over No. 17 LSU on Tuesday. Junior All-American Lauren Grill led the Rebels, batting .375 on the week with six hits and three runs scored. Grill also stole home on the front end of a double steal to tie the game at three in the Rebels' first win over Arkansas.

Senior Lisa Conchos hit her first home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning in the Rebel's come from back victory in the second game against Arkansas. Alyssa McGovern singled home Alise Doubt from third with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to propel the Rebels to a 3-2 victory over the No. 17 Tigers on Tuesday

Grill continues to lead the Rebels with six home runs and 21 RBI and is batting a team-best .333 in SEC games. Freshman Corrine Doornberg leads the team with a .282 batting average. In the circle, junior Becky Nye paces the Rebels with 10 wins and a 2.50 ERA in 18 starts.

“This is always a great event for the state of Mississippi and its big any time you play Mississippi State,” said Ole Miss head coach Missy Dickerson. “We are coming off a big series win against Arkansas and we need to carry that momentum over to this game.”

Mississippi State enters the contest with a 17-16 record and is 2-10 SEC, but claimed a pair of wins over No. 9 Tennessee last weekend. The Bulldogs are lead by Chelsea Bramlett, who leads the SEC with a .509 batting average. In the circle, Lindsey Dunlap has a team-best 9-9 record with a 3.10 ERA in 13 starts this season.

The two in-state rivals have met 42 times, with the Bulldogs holding a 26-16 advantage. However, the Rebels are 3-1 against MSU in games held in the Jackson area, including last year’s thrilling 2-1 victory in Ridgeland.
